The Crimson Forest is a location in Lost Odyssey that is a deep shade of red. It is said to have been stained that color after the blood of soldiers, from a war 500 years prior to the events of the game, was absorbed into the land. These soldiers were able to use Spirit Magic, a type of magic that faded out shortly after the soldiers died. Due to the forest absorbing their blood, all monsters inhabiting it have use of Spirit Magic, some of them being composed entirely out of Spirit Magic.

Mack runs to the forest in an attempt to see his mother again, but is possessed by one of the vengeful spirits. Kaim, Seth, Jansen, and Cooke come shortly to save him.
